Join us for the Art Club of McKinney's Field Trip to the Creative Arts Center in Bonham!

What to expect:

  • About 45 minute drive in the country, up Highway 121 to get to Bonham from McKinney.  
  • Enjoy a light continental breakfast of coffee, juice, fruits and muffins
  • Tour the center and gift shop
  • Two hour watercolor demonstration by accomplished artist Tatiana Murray Suvorova. You can choose to bring your own supplies and follow along, use some of our supplies or just sit back and take it all in.
  • Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon including chicken and rice with Carribean flavors, as well as salad, bread and a delicious homemade dessert.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 am - Arrive, welcome & continental breakfast
  • 9:30 am - Tour the center with Director Sandy Barber & Coordinator Japhnee Metellus
  • 10:00 am - Watercolor Demonstration with Tatiana Murray Suvorova
  • 12:00 pm - Lunch served buffet style & time to check out the gift shop
  • 1:00 pm - Depart

More about the artist & her presentation:
Tatiana Murray Suvorova is a classically trained artist from Kazakhstan who immigrated to the United States in 2004.  She earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and Fashion Design from the Omsk Art and Service Institute in Russia.  She has been an exhibiting artists and art educator for her entire career.  She currently lives near Bonham in Windom, Texas.  She regularly teaches classes in watercolors, oil pastels and felting at the Creative Arts Center and occasionally in other places across North Texas.  She is also an award winning artists who exhibits her work regularly at the Creative Arts Center and across North Texas.  Read more about Tatiana at: https://creativeartscenterbonham.org/about/artists/tatiana-murray/

Tatiana will talk about 20 different watercolor techniques, with examples and live painting. Participants can bring their own watercolor supplies if they want to follow along.  The center will have some watercolor supplies available to be used too.  Participants can also choose to sit back, watch, absorb it all and even take notes.  Tatiana will introduce some new materials, demonstrate painting on different papers and more.
